The Environment

The Color Company is one of the longest established companies in reprographics in central London. The business has provided reprographic services for almost 15 years now and over this period has gained significant experience and knowledge of this sector. We have been expanding the business recently through acquisitions in order to offer new services and a premium geographical footprint.
We now have an unrivalled network of centres in locations of choice across central London. The business now has a full range of support services available from reprographics to mailing and shipping.
We are committed to convenience, service and quality. The demonstration of our professionalism is the significant and prestigious client base we have.
We are fully committed to the development of our staff for continuity of relationships and professionalism.
- The Color Company works closely with our suppliers through quarterly reviews ensuring that we minimise the environmental impact of the energy and materials that we use. Where possible The Color Company will use certified products: The FSC label enables us to be confident that the papers we supply are not contributing to the destruction of the world’s forests.
- The Color Company works to ensure that all waste is disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. For example all toner bottles and ink cartridges are collected by our suppliers for recycling, all paper, packaging, bottles cans etc are all recycled through our management companies or independent recycling companies. All waste paper is reused in store for test runs, setting up and testing machines. We have recently introduced charging for packaging, encouraging our clients to reuse the packaging where possible.
- The Color Company uses a small van for local deliveries. We are committed to reducing our “tonnes CO₂e” by 5% over the next 12 months. To ensure we hit our target we will ensure that each trip is a multi drop incurring fewer miles than is necessary and all local small orders will be delivered by our staff to our clients where possible.
- The Color Company has also committed to lowering its electricity usage by 8% over the next 12 months. We intend to hit this target by, replacing light bulbs from T8’s to T4’s when replacements are needed, turning off all lights, computers and printers when not in use and lastly replacing the air con units with an environmental friendly system as recommend by our supplier. The air con will only be turned on when needed and it will remain no lower than 24C.
The action plan will be communicated to our staff and suppliers through use of our website, team meetings and posting on all notice boards throughout our offices. The action plan will show our commitments and subsequent results.
This environmental policy will be published and displayed in our reception areas and on our website. A full annual review will take place with our partners from Carbon Smart. Quarterly action plan reviews will take place with the Operations Manager and the Managers of the centres.
